Edward William Hensley, 91, of Ringgold, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018. Edward was born July 10, 1927, in Monroe County, Tennessee, to the late Erskine and Ada Hensley. Mr. Hensley was a resident of the East Ridge community for 25 years and Ringgold for over 25 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in World War II. Edward was in the Sea Bees and fought in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of New Haven Baptist Church. Edward enjoyed time outdoors hunting & fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, reading, and watching the Braves and old westerns.
Survivors are his wife of 69 years, Rita Hensley; son, Rick (Pam) Hensley, Soddy Daisy; daughters, Judy (Johnny) Lyons, Ringgold, Kathy Mullins, Ringgold; brother Wendell Hensley, Madisonville, TN; sisters Fonda Angel, Maryville, Joyce Boyer, Richmond, VA, Freida Barr, Madisonville, TN; grandchildren, Eric and Timothy Lyons, Brad Grisham, Nick Hensley; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Robbie Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy.
