Doyl Franklin Tumlin, 91, of Rossville went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 7, 2021. Doyl was born August 28, 1929 in Jackson County, AL to the late Mikeral and Pearl Kirby Tumlin. He was a resident of the North Georgia area for over 70 years and attended Glory Road Baptist Church. He grew up farming on Sand Mountain in Alabama before joining the U.S. Army where he served his country in the Korean War. After his time in the military he worked for DuPont in Chattanooga where he retired after over 30 years of service. He married the girl next door and love of his life, Easter Shrader. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, traveling and piddlin' around the house but more than anything he loved spending time with his family. His life was devoted to his wife and making a happy home for them and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He spread his love to everyone who knew him. He had many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly and he cherished as his own.
He is preceded by his loving wife of 68 years, Easter; 7 brothers and sisters; son in law, Gary Williams.
Survivors include his son, Tony (Reta) Tumlin; daughter, Debra Williams; grandchildren, David (Dana) Williams, Amy (Robert) Long and Beth Tumlin; 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bud Laney officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
