Dorothy Talley

Dorothy Brooks Talley, 91 years of age, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 08, 2020.  She was preceded in death by a son, Lewis Benton Talley, Jr, her husband of 58 years, Lewis Benton Talley, sister, Edith Land, and her parents, Amos and Ina Brooks.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Talley (Stan) Bryant and a son, Michael (Pam) Talley, 9 grandchildren, Rev. Aaron (Amy) Bryant, Carrie Bryant(Gary) Glenn,  Libby (Chad) McJunkin, Nathan (Stephanie) Talley, Wesley (Nichelle) Talley, Jordan (Karen) Talley, Landry Talley, Nilesen (Sidney) Cross, Cooper Talley, 28 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren.

She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Ringgold but attended Brentwood Baptist Church after moving to Franklin.  She graduated from Central High School in Chattanooga and several years later went to work at DuPont with 28 years of service before retiring.

Mr and Mrs Talley owned and operated Hillcrest Mobile Home Park in Rossville, GA for several years.  Upon selling the park they moved to Ringgold, GA, and lived there 14 years until Mr. Talley passed away in 2002.  Mrs. Talley later moved to Franklin, TN, to be near her two children where she lived at The Manor at Steeplechase for 14 years.

A memorial service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in Ft Oglethorpe on Sunday, Jan. 12, at 3:00 pm with Rev. Aaron Bryant officiating.  Visitation will be at 1:00 to 3:00 pm, prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Nathan Talley, Wesley Talley, Jordan Talley, Landry Talley, Cooper Talley and Sidney Cross.  Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Bryson, Robert Purcell, and Wayne Ervin.
