Tribute

Dimple Harden Wilkes Marlin, 94, of Chattanooga, was born on September 12, 1924 and left these earthly bonds on December 20, 2018. She lived a beautiful 94 Spirit filled and Christ centered years. She is the last of the founding members of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church where she and former husband, Jarvis Wilkes were former Sunday School teachers and founding members of the then “Young Adult Bible Class”. She was also active in the Women’s Society of Jones Memorial. Everyone who met ‘Miss Dimple’, whether at Jones Memorial, First Christian Church, Lovemans, or Kingwood Pharmacy, loved and appreciated her jovial and friendly spirit. The Matriarch of our family was pre-deceased by her parents, Chester and Liza Harden, sister, Junie Goggins (Preston), brother, Doyle Harden (Virginia), beloved daughter, Kathy Wilkes Sullivan, husband, Jarvis Wilkes of fifty years, and Allen Marlin, husband of fourteen years.

Survivors include her sons, Gary (Lisa) Wilkes and Randy (Paula) Wilkes, Chris (Doug) Harden; grand-children, Richard (Sarah) Wilkes, Michael (Taeler) Wilkes, Kathryn Wilkes, Savanna Wilkes, Karen Richardson, Olivia Richardson, Abby (Dave) Hellenbrook, Travis (Monica) Sullivan, Andrew (Christen) Wilkes, Kim (Steve) Garland, Nicki (Brad) Maiser; great-grand-children, Elly-Mae and Meyer Wilkes, Alex Hellenbrook, Parker Sullivan, Christin Garland, Ava and Margo Maiser.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, in the funeral home chapel with Kindred Hospice Chaplin Ted Smith and Rev. Brandon Gilvin, pastor of First Christian Church, Chattanooga, officiating.  Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital in Memphis, the Chattanooga Chapter of the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, or to your favorite charity.

The family will receive friends 12-2 PM, Sunday, at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
