Denny Wyrick

Denny Wyrick, 96, passed away in Nelson County, Virginia on Friday, November 3, 2023. He was born on October 23, 1927 in Harlan, Kentucky to the late John Wyrick and Eva Marcum Wyrick. He had lived in north Georgia for many years prior to moving to Virginia a few years ago. He attended the Corinth Baptist Church in Lafayette and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Wyrick was a Boiler Room Engineer and also worked in the coal mines. He loved spending time with his family, his dog Cricket and enjoyed sweets. Denny had a strong will, a big heart for everyone and an unwavering love for the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Melby Wyrick; daughter, Alice (Fred) Pippin; son-in-law, Jim Benedict and grandson, Dennis Pippin.

Survivors include his children, Ralph Wyrick and Barbara Ann Benedict; grandchildren, Shay Wyrick, Donna Pippin Cash (Eddie) and Cheryl Benedict (Chris); great-grandchildren, Kaelyn (Zack) Collins, Kyle Cash, Kaden Cash, Karly Cash, Nathan Garvey and Meagan Garvey; along with his great great grandchildren, Levi and Lacie Collins.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at the Lafayette City Cemetery.
