Dennis Glen Terry

Dennis Glen Terry, age 67, passed away at a local hospital October 17th after a long battle fighting Covid-19.

Dennis was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Pinecrest, Florida at the age of 6 where he remained into adulthood. He then moved up to Dalton, Georgia where he remained in the local area since.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 16 years, Tammy Terry; stepfather, Buster Smith; father, George Terry; grandmother, Charity Blevins; brother, Stephen Terry.

Dennis leaves behind family that loves him; son, Matt Terry; grandsons Ronnie and Ryan; stepdaughter, Alex (Ross) Elkins; stepson, Hunter (Nicole) Lewis; mother, Betty Smith; siblings, Kenneth (Arlene) Terry; Cathy (Ronnie) Walker; Tim (Norma Jean) Smith; David Smith;  grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

As an avid outdoorsman, Dennis enjoyed spending time golfing, fishing, hiking, and exploring national parks. He would travel often to Florida to spend time with loved ones. His grandsons, Ronnie and Ryan were blessed to have extra time and adventures with Papa. Whenever he could, Dennis was watching sports of all kinds, memorizing all the stats of each game.

Due to the nature of his and Tammy’s passing, the family wishes to have a private graveside burial Wednesday, October 21, 2020 honoring Dennis and his wife.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to Orange Grove Center, a non-profit that works with people of all ages with disabilities.
