David Lyons

David Martin Lyons went home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2023.  David was born on October 30, 1947 in Chattanooga, TN.  He graduated from Brainerd High School and went on to get his college degree from MTSU.  David served 6 years in the United States Corps Reserve.  He worked for Provident Life & Accident (now Unum) and CIGNA as a Financial Underwriter and retired from these companies. 

David was a kind and loving person.  He loved reading the Bible, painting and playing guitar.  He loved his family and had a fondness for his pets. 

David was preceded in death by his parents Becky and James Lyons and his brother Skip Lyons.

Survivors include his wife Irene, daughter Sarah (Jon) Powell, stepdaughter Elizabeth (Mike) Pavlis, step-grandchildren Anson and Nicholas Pavlis, and niece Hilary (Gregory) Hopkins.

The family is grateful for the care provided by the staff at Rosewood Memory Care Facility and Tapestry Hospice.  We are also grateful to the caregivers Al Robinson and Paige Osbourne.

David is now in peace and free of pain.  “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but have eternal life” – John 3:16

A celebration of David’s life will be held at the funeral home 4 PM, Tuesday, receiving friends from 2-4 PM. 

David was a supporter of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Moody Bible Institute and Bethel Bible Village.  If you wish to make a donation in David’s name please send to these associations.
