Darlene Lora Parry

Darlene Lora Parry, 65, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, passed away, February 20, 2021.  Darlene was born in Los Altos, California August 3, 1955.  Her parents, Tom and Julia Parry, relocated to Guam early in her life.  Darlene was an active member of the John F. Kennedy High School Class of 1972 as a student and cheerleader.  Her early career in Guam included working for Xerox, 3M, and Rainbow Paint in sales.  Darlene was married twice and had two children who were raised on Guam. Darlene relocated to Georgia in 1995, where she continued her career in sales. She eventually switched to healthcare, studying at Dalton State College and, after training as a nurse, became a professional caregiver.  Throughout her life, Darlene was dedicated to her family and her all her many pets.  She was an active member of Covenant Life Church in Chickamauga, GA. She also did volunteer work with a variety of charities.  She succumbed after a long battle with breast and small-cell lung cancer and died at home.  She is survived by her son Ian Thomas Day, daughter-in-law Andrea, and granddaughters Emma and Kiera of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her daughter Amy Day Edmondson, son-in-law Bryan Edmondson, grandson Knox, and granddaughter Stassi of Atlanta, Georgia; her sister Roberta Parry Anastasiow and niece Judith Smitheran of Santa Fe, New Mexico; as well as other family and friends.

 The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 5pm ET at Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
