The family mournfully announces the passing of Christopher Aaron Crump, beloved son, brother, uncle, friend and U.S. Veteran. On Saturday, September 18, 2021, Christopher transcended time to spend eternity with the LORD at the young age of 38.
Christopher was born on January 16, 1983, at Women’s Hospital to Leonce B. Crump, Sr., and Janice D. Crump. He was raised in Louisiana, graduated from Baton Rouge High School and went on to complete his education at Cornell University, where he graduated with honors with a double major in Government and History.
After University, Christopher was admitted to Officers Candidate School, where he went on to serve his country in the United States Navy. Christopher was a decorated Officer, who served in Naval Intelligence, and he accomplished great work for his country. He traveled the world, specifically the African Continent, where he took great pride in what he was assigned to do.
Christopher had an incredible passion for music and art. He loved film, LSU Football, and Politics. His quiet ambition, which lasted well into his adult years, was to run for President of the United States. Christopher admired Dr. Martin Luther King and President John F. Kennedy. He loved and admired his father and older brother, and often looked to his older brother for advice. He loved Jesus, and he loved his family. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his compassionate spirit. There are few people in the world as extraordinary as him.
Christopher is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Alton David Crump, Sr. and Mildred Crump and Walter Nathaniel Davenport, Sr. and Mattie Sue Arnaud Davenport, aunts Annie C. Pryor and Debra Snell, uncles Floyd, Gerald and Alton David Crump, Jr. and a close cousin, Eric Davenport.
He is survived by his parents Léonce Sr. and Janice, his brother Rev. Léonce Jr., and his four beloved nieces and nephew—Eden, Eva, Léonce III, and Ella, and a host of devoted aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Viewing will be held at the Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 4 – 6:00 p.m. and at Renovation Church from 9-10:30 a.m. before the funeral services.
The homegoing service will be held on Friday, September 24th, 2021, at Renovation Church, located at 1775 Water Place, Atlanta, GA, 30339, at 11 a.m.
