Charles "Gene" Eugene Ballew

Gene Ballew, loving husband and father passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on March 13,
2021.
 
Gene was raised in the Rossville GA area, graduating from Rossville High School in 1958. In
1961 he married his high school sweetheart Glenda Kay Smith and they raised three daughters.
He retired from R J Reynolds Tobacco Co after 32 years where he was the North GA area sales
rep.
After retirement Kay & Gene moved to Lake Tansi in Crossville TN and lived there for 25 years. They had recently moved back to North GA.
 
Gene was preceded i n death by his parents Thomas and Juanita (Toomey) Ballew, his three
brothers Pete, Duane and Ralph. He is survived by his wife Kay, his daughters Stacey Hendricks, Melissa Nance (Pryor) and Kelley Ballew, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, Aunt Mildred (Toomey) Crutchfield and several nieces and nephews.
 
The family would like to request donations in lieu of flowers, in Gene’s name to your favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research or your local Senior Center.
 
Visitation will be Thursday March 18th from 5pm - 7pm. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel on Friday at 1pm Heritage Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe GA
