Charles Hue Franklin, 85, of Rossville passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017. He was a barber in East Ridge for over 50 years working at East Ridge Barber Shop and Franklin’s Barber Shop. He was a Korean Wartime Veteran, serving his country in the US Army for 2 years. Hue was a devoted Christian of the Baptist faith. He was an excellent bluegrass musician who played many instruments including the banjo, guitar, fiddle and mandolin. “Pop” was an outstanding athlete in his early years, playing softball into his 50’s. He had a servant’s heart, serving his family unselfishly as a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed as he was a source of strength and help to his family and everyone who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Polly Franklin; sons, Charlie (Sandra) Franklin and Tommy Franklin; daughter, Debbie (Tommy) Grisham; brother, LD Franklin; sister, Nola Franklin; grandchildren, Jenny (Seth), Alissa (James), Evan, Ian (Randi), Dylan, Brendan, Caedan, Tristan, London, Lauren (Dylan), Kathryn, Timothy and Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Autumn, Samuel, Temperance, Gavin, and Lyndlee.

Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Friday at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Gary Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
