Carolyn June Stewart, 87, of Fort Oglethorpe, went to be with the Lord on May 11, 2017.  She was the beloved wife of John Franklin (Sid) Stewart for 69 years.   June is survived by two daughters:  Deborah Stewart Perry (Ben), Kaye Smith Haskin (Mark), and one granddaughter, Amanda Stewart Bowen, a sister-in-law, Ruth Taylor, and several nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents, Arthur and Emmie Chandler Leigh of LaFayette, brothers:  R.A. Leigh, Joel Leigh, Dub Leigh, Beryl Leigh and sisters: Mary Lou Lacy and Annas Evans, and son-in-law: Frankie Smith

June was a founding member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe and a member of the Lydia Sunday School Class.  She was retired from Chattanooga Bakery and was a volunteer at Hutcheson Memorial Hospital.

Pallbearers will be Ben Perry, Mark Haskin, Eddie Holland, Charles Ramsey, Nolan Richardson and Ron Born.

Funeral services will be Noon, Tuesday, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Keith McLeod officiating.  Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 5-8 PM, Monday, at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
