Clifford Robert “Bobby” Hodges, 76, a resident of Cleveland TN, and formerly Fort Oglethorpe, GA, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019, at his home.
Bobby worked for the Post Office for more than 40 years before he retired. He also served his country in the Marine Corp as well as retired from the 181st Army National Guard. He served in the 196th artillery in the Gulf War in Kuwait. He was also a Mason in Ft. Oglethorpe, Tompkins Lodge #466. Bobby was of the Baptist faith. In his free time, he enjoyed golf, riding motorcycles, and GA Bulldogs football. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Willard Hodges.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Bettye Anne Hodges of Cleveland, TN, his daughter Wendy (Michael) Ryans of Rossville and son Kevin (Kris) Hodges of Normandy, TN, stepdaughter Jamie (Bryan) Norman of McDonald, TN and stepson Jason (Lisa) Woodall of Cleveland. He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Alyssa, Tucker, Austin, Savannah, Kane, and Trevor, his great-granddaughter Kinsley, and brothers Lamar (Brenda) Hodges of Rossville and Mike (Shelby) Hodges of Orlando, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice, or to your local animal shelter.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Keith McLeod officiating.
A military burial will follow on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will celebrate his life with visitation 2-4 PM Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
