Bobbie Jean West, of East Ridge, TN, passed away on January 27, 2021. She was a teacher, business owner, and member of First Baptist Church of Chattanooga. Bobbie was the daughter of Guy C Jeffers and Anna P Jeffers. She was a woman who feared the Lord and loved life. She was nurtured in a home where Church and The Bible were the center of the family and she made that the center of her own. Bobbie attended Oneida High School where she excelled as captain of the basketball team. She graduated from Carson Newman College majoring in Business and Music. It was there that she met her loving husband Richard of 64 years. Upon graduation, she worked at the Oneida Bank and taught at Oneida High School. Moving to Chattanooga in 1963 she taught at Kirkman Technical. She joined her husband in the building of their ServiceMaster of Chattanooga business.
Bobbie is known for her dimpled smile, sweet and graceful demeanor, welcoming attitude that set everyone at ease and dedication to her family to whom she was their Rock. She enjoyed spending time with her family, travelling with her husband, found joy in her Waters Sunday School class, playing piano, and attending her exercise classes.
In addition to her husband Richard, Bobbie is survived by her Children Rick, Tony, Julie Hammond (Robby); grandchildren, Terry, Rachel, Alexis, Weston , McKenzie, and Bella; siblings Ralph Jeffers (Shirley), Ruth Ann Phillips, and Don Jeffers; In laws, Mrs. Harold Jeffers, Mary Alice Turner, Frank West (Jenny); and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harold Jeffers, and nephew, Randy Jeffers.
A Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home Fort Oglethorpe. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the National Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
