Bill Highwood

William "Bill" Highwood, 85 of Rossville passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 where he is now resting peacefully in God’s arms. He was born to the late William and Elizabeth Highwood on January 25, 1937 in Cologne, Germany and moved to Cincinnati, OH when he was 3. Bill served in the U.S. Air Force. He was the Director of Engineering for Hyatt and Hilton Hotels for over 20 years then retired and went to work part-time at Home Depot. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, hiking, camping with his children and his dogs.
 
He was preceded in death by his sons, Christopher Highwood, Robert Lee and Tommy Thompson.
 
Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Carla Highwood; children, William Bradley (Lisa) Highwood, Albert (Melissa) Highwood, Gregory Highwood, Tony Highwood, William Nicholas (Amanda) Highwood and Stephanie Marie Highwood; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
 
A funeral mass will be held at 7 PM Saturday at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church. Reception following Mass. Please bring your fondest memories of Bill to share.
 
The family will receive friends 2-6 PM Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
