Bertha Elizabeth Sharp, 86, of Fort Oglethorpe went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 24, 2020 at her home. She was a long-time resident of the North Georgia area and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Sharp owned and operated Gene’s Furniture Store with her husband. She had also been the shoe store manager at Gibson’s. She enjoyed cooking for her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gene Sharp; parents, Clifton and Daisy Pendergrass; sons, Terrell Lee Sharp and Steve Sharp; brothers, John and Don Pendergrass and sisters, Patsy Lee, Nell Lewis and Lena "Topsy" Banther.
Survivors include her brother, Mack Pendergrass; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Sharp; granddaughters, Lindsay and Courtney Sharp.
A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
