Audrey Long Fincher, 88, of Ringgold, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020 after many years of battling Alzheimer’s. She is survived by her brother, David Long; cousin and caregiver, Judy Creswell and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fincher; her parents, Hugh and Mattie Lou Rollins Long; and two brothers, John and Harold Long; and her special friend Lamar Gladdens.
She graduated from Rossville High School but spent her childhood years in the Waring/Varnell Georgia area. A brilliant artist she was noted for her prize winning realistic oil paintings of nature and all its beauty. She loved flowers and was a florist designer for several years. She also was a hair stylist at Miller Brothers Salon and later a private salon. She loved her solitude and working in her yard. A marvelous cook, she was known for her macaroni salad and chocolate covered cherries. Serenely beautiful, she loved fashion and was a gifted seamstress. In her later years, she had a passion for jig saw puzzles.
The family wishes to thank the great professional care of Rosewood Assisted Living and of Hearth Hospice.
