Amber Marie Walker, 34, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018. Amber is a 2002 graduate of Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School, 2007 graduate of Shorter University where she received a B.S. in History Education, and a 2008 graduate of the University of Alabama where she received a Master’s Degree in Library Information Science.
Amber enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling the world, photography, cooking, Alabama football (Roll Tide) and most of all spending time with the loves of her life, her nieces Jasmine and Camille. She was always ready to play travel agent for the family and plan the next family adventure and vacation. She was a member of Fort Oglethorpe First Baptist Church and involved in the Women’s Group activities.
Anyone who was fortunate enough to meet Amber was truly touched and inspired with her perseverance and love of life. She always found a way to find the good in every situation life tossed at her. She will dearly be missed by all who loved her but now she is healed and whole again.
Amber is preceded in death by her grandparents, Dr. Aubry and Mary Walker. She is survived by her parents Jerry and Cindy Walker; sister, Brooke (Dale) Mobley; nieces, Jasmine and Camille Mobley; grandparents, Bill and Charlene Colquitt; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services honoring her incredible life’s journey will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jason Thomas officiating.
