Alvin “Leon” Carver, 83, of Rossville went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 7, 2018 at his home. He was a life-long resident of Rossville and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Leon retired from Velsicol Chemical Company after 42 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Myrtle Carver and sister, Margaret Bailey.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Day Carver; children, Becky (Scottie) Medlin, Greg (Mitzi) Carver; brother, W.C. Carver; grandsons, Julian Chambers, Landon Carver and Chandler Carver; and great-grandchildren, Savanna Chambers and Hunter Palmer.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Royce Powell and Rev. Marvin Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
