I worked with Al in 1995 in Hobart Indiana. He was a great man who provided great help and direction in helping build Barrington Ridge Baptist Church. I haven't spoken with him since the but he left a lasting impression on all of us who worked with him.

Our friendship with Al and Mary began long ago in the Oakwood Baptist Church fellowship in Chattanooga and continued when we joined them at First Baptist, Ft. Oglethorpe. They have both been such faithful followers of Christ and a positive influence in the lives of all who have known them. No doubt that Al is rejoicing in the presence of our Heavenly Father, and the family and friends he left here will be comforted and sustained by God as the adjustment is made to this great loss.

I was privileged to meet Mr. Davis a few times, along with his sweet wife. I know his daughter Linda well, and was able to spend some time with the Davis through Linda. I know he will be surely missed. My condolences to the family...I know this special man will be missed, but I also know he is rejoicing in Heaven with the Lord.

Knowing Alvin Davis is to know that HIS was a ‘life well lived’…his ministry and outreach for Christ touched so many lives! What a legacy he leaves, what a witness his life continues to be. We mourn with the family in his loss, yet at the same time, we rejoice in the celebration that MUST be going on in heaven!! I’m convinced the first words he heard were WELL DONE MY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT.….Thank you Jesus, for this precious man of God.

There is no way for me to EVER express what this precious man of God has meant to me these past 31 years. Working with him, teasing him, walking up beside him and as he saw me saying, "Oh no, here's trouble" will be memories that I can never forget. "Baby, It's cold outside" is a greeting I always received from him, because of a sudden, un-expected cold spell on one of our mission trips. But, no cold today for my sweet, special friend. He is warm now; wrapped in the arms of Jesus. Love unending to our Mary and these four dear children.
