Alma "Ruth" (Wallin) Daniel

Alma Ruth Wallin Daniel, known by most as “Ms. Ruth” passed away at the age of 89 on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. She was born in Chickamauga, GA and graduated from Rossville High School in 1948. She was a member of St. Elmo Church of Christ for 70 years. She was married to Jim Daniel, Jr. for 52 years.
 
“Ms. Ruth” was the Secretary of Chattanooga Valley High School from 1955 until 1989.
 
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Daniel, Jr.; her parents, Grady and Virginia Wallin; brothers, Larry Wallin, Eddie Wallin and sister, Reba Wallin Beagles.
 
Ruth is survived by her children, Steve (Cathy) Daniel, David (Stephanie) Daniel; grandson, Justin Daniel; sister, Wanda (Leon) Myers; brother, Maurice (Paula) Wallin; sister-in-law, Bertie Lou McMurtrie; niece, Sandra (Wayne) Locke; nephew, Chip (Kathy) McMurtrie and many more nieces and nephews.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Elmo Church of Christ.
 
A private graveside will held on Monday at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South with Minister David Pharr officiating.
 
The family will receive friends 9:30-10:30 AM Monday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
