Charles Lee Wright, Jr.

Charles Lee Wright, Jr., 93, of Ringgold, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 15, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga/North Georgia area and a member of Cross Connection Assembly of God in Chickamauga. Charles was a Choir Director at many local churches and wrote and published many gospel songs for the Church of God. He also served on the board of the Church of God Publishing Company. He was given an award recognizing him as a leader in gospel music for over 40 years. He was a member of American Legion and Woodmen of the World. Charles was employed at Gilman Paint Company for over 47 years. He held several positions including Plant Manager. Charles Wright also served his country in the Korean War.
 
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charles Lee Wright, Sr. and Ella Melton Wright, brother James Thomas “JT” Wright and sister Carrie Tinker.
 
Survivors include his loving wife of 72 years, Bobbie Jenkins Wright, son Steve Wright (Kellie) of Rock Spring, daughter Melody Cecil (Kevin) of Ringgold, grandchildren Aimee Hanchey, Nathan (Ellen) and Meri Wright, Dalton and Madison Getsinger, Hannah Bales (Jonathan) and Amanda Cecil, and great-grandchildren Cash, Polaris “Po,” Rigel “Ri,”  Sutton, and Grayson.
 
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Joey Kelly and Rev. Gene Cecil officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
