Mary Miller Proctor, 88, of Rossville, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimers.
She was one of fourteen children born to Nathan and Mary Key. She was raised on a farm in Lithonia, Georgia. She moved to Chattanooga in 1952 and made her home in the Rossville area in 1956. She opened Mary’s Beauty Salon in 1962 and retired in 1992. She was a member of The Cloud Springs Baptist Church and Catoosa County Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 49 years: John Brown Miller and her second husband of 10 years: Charles Proctor, Sr.
She is survived by her sons: Mike (Karen) Miller, John Barry Miller and stepchildren: Charles Proctor, Jr., Susan Smith, Alan Proctor, Sherry Betty; 3 brothers: Herman Key and Cecil Key, McDonough, GA, and Jr. Key, Conyers, GA; 6 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday with Dr. Keith McLeod officiating. Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South. The family will receive friends from 10 AM to Noon Saturday, prior to the service, at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
