Gloria Hope (Horton) Delay

Gloria Hope Horton DeLay, 83, of Ringgold went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday December 8, 2017. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and aunt. She served her Lord and Savior faithfully her entire life and made a difference in the lives of those she encountered.
Mrs. DeLay was a great- granddaughter of George and Lydia Brotherton of the Brotherton Log Cabin in Chickamauga National Park.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Alfred and Ruby Lee Brotherton Horton, and sister Tommie Horton Callahan. Gloria was a faithful member of South Seminole Baptist Church for 60 years and served in many capacities, including teaching Sunday School.
She is survived by her loving husband Henry “Lefty” DeLay Jr. Sons Dr. Bradley (Diane )DeLay of Daltonand Coach Phil ( Terry) DeLay of Ringgold, and Grandchildren Kristen DeLay ( Steve) Green of Fort Oglethorpe, Jonathan ( Lauren) DeLay of Thomasville, Ga. Scott (Avalee) DeLay of Dalton, GA, Allison Hope DeLay Kennesaw, GA, and Thomas DeLay of Athens, GA. Great-grandchildren Ava and Emma DeLay, Grayson Green, and Betsy DeLay.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at South Seminole Baptist Church with Pastor Drew Tankersley and Bro. Ron Perry officiating. Interment in the Burning Bush Baptist Church Cemetery

The family will receive friends from 2-6 Sunday and from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
