Doris J. Spurgeon, 93, of Rossville, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017 in a local health care facility.  She was the daughter of the late William Andrew and Eula Almeda Johnson.  She was a graduate of Lakeview High School, where she played Basketball and for more than 50 years, held the single game girls scoring record.  She was a retired Avon Representative and Manager for 25 years. She was a lifelong member of Lakeview First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband:  H. P. (Larry) Larimore, Rossville, and two sons:  Patrick L. (Jean) Spurgeon, Frederick Maryland, and Dana H. (Judy) Spurgeon, Charlotte, NC;  a brother:  Robert J. Johnson, Grayson, GA, and a sister:  Billie J. Cole, Vernon Hill, VA, and 6 grandchildren;  8 great-grandchildlren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at Lakeview First Baptist Church with Rev. Leroy Spinks officiating.  Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield  Parkway.
